Day time community rowing
As well as the relatively formal learn-to-row courses we have a more informal way of getting in to rowing for adults. On Wednesday mornings we offer those who are not at work (or are otherwise available) a chance to learn to row in small groups. Experienced rowers are also welcome.

We meet from 9.30 to 12.00 approx.
For beginners we have use of our Explore Rowing Swift stable training boats (two quads, two doubles and two singles) and three older Edon training singles. For the more experienced we have the choice (within limits) of the club's fine boats.

The charge in 2017 is £4.50 a session or you can pay £15 by monthly standing order as an off-peak member.

If interested in coming along, please get in touch first if at all possible (especially complete beginners) - email Colin Percy at or ring on 07985 003304.
For anyone coming for the first time, make sure you bring sports clothing (indoor and outdoor, not too baggy), trainers and wellies/sandals/wet shoes - nothing too expensive – it might get a bit dirty or wet. Hoodies or jackets with open pockets are not allowed when rowing or on the rowing machines (thumbs get caught). A full change of clothes is advised.

We have changing rooms and showers (not sure how warm). The charge per session is £4.50. Our location is shown at Postcode is NE15 8NL. We are the club north of the river, just past the Boathouse PH.
